The Ottawa Midget AAA Senators relied on the scoring touch of Noah Haymes, who netted two goals, to beat the Pembroke Midget AAA Lumber Kings, 4-0.
Haymes scored short handed at 6:06 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Ottawa Midget AAA and again while 4:47 into the third to make the score 4-0 Ottawa Midget AAA.
Ottawa Midget AAA put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Pembroke Midget AAA to score on any of its three power plays.
Ottawa Midget AAA also got a goal from Jean-Sylvain Boyer as well. In addition, Ottawa Midget AAA received assists from Jacob Lamont and Marcus Stepto, who contributed one each.
The Lumber Kings’ penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Ottawa Midget AAA power plays. Pembroke Midget AAA was held below its usual level of production. The Lumber Kings put an average of 2.3 pucks into the net per game.
Cedrick Andree made 16 saves for the Senators on 16 shots. Ottawa Midget AAA incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jake Smith rejected 24 shots on goal for Pembroke Midget AAA. The Lumber Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
