OHA U18 Midget AAA wins tough contest against Kemptville Midget AAA, 3-2

The OHA U18 Midget AAA OHA U17 gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Kemptville Midget AAA 73s.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Craig Garrigan‘s goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

OHA U18 Midget AAA was led by Garrigan, who registered one goal. Garrigan scored 19:50 into the third period to make the score 3-2 OHA U18 Midget AAA. Heath Ford provided the assist.

OHA U18 Midget AAA also got points from Ford, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Dylan Stacey also scored for OHA U18 Midget AAA. In addition, OHA U18 Midget AAA received assists from Jon Vandermolen, Adam Porter, Aleck Forcier, and Justin Cheng, who each chipped in one.

Kemptville Midget AAA kept the OHA U17’s goalie busy throughout the game, and Francis Asselin made 29 saves on 31 shots.

The 73s were helped by Joel Holtrop, who tallied one goal. Holtrop scored on the power play 8:42 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Kemptville Midget AAA earned a power play opportunity when Thomas Chaulk was put in the box for high sticking. Kemptville Midget AAA also got a goal from Dean Bucciarelli as well. More assists for Kemptville Midget AAA came via Zach Cohen and Ryan Pawlikowski, who contributed one each.

OHA U18 Midget AAA incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The 73s’ Jacob Dioszeghy stopped 23 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Kemptville Midget AAA incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
