We are saddened by the recent loss of Denise Kossatz, a treasured volunteer and friend of the Pembroke Lumber Kings. Denise spent many years volunteering alongside her beloved husband Greg, coordinating both canteens and providing a wonderful home to many hockey billets. Denise devoted much of her time supporting the PLK by volunteering countless hours keeping the canteens operating during other PMC events such as concerts, Fiddle Fests, school hockey days, the Silver Stick as well as throughout the regular and playoff seasons.
Denise was also the go-to seamstress for the PLK, adding name tags to jerseys for the players and doing other mending. Denise loved quilting. She was even named ‘Employee of the Month’.
Known for her love of her family, especially her grandchildren, Denise retired as a volunteer in 2019 to spend more time with them. Denise will alway remain in the hearts of former and current volunteers who had the pleasure of knowing her.
